The dashboard explained

The Dashboard is your home screen. It gives you an at-a-glance view of what you are owed, what is overdue, what you have received and what is still in draft — plus quick links to the things you do most often. Select Dashboard at the top of the left-hand menu to return to it at any time.

Note: Every amount on the dashboard is shown in your organisation's functional currency (its home currency), even if individual invoices were raised in other currencies.

The four tiles

Across the top are four summary tiles:

  • Outstanding — the total still awaiting payment across your issued invoices, with a count of how many invoices that is. Selecting it opens your invoices.
  • Overdue — the part of that total whose due date has passed. When anything is overdue this tile turns red. Selecting it opens your invoices.
  • Received this month — the total of customer payments recorded so far this month, with a count. A payment dated after today is not counted until its date. Selecting it opens your payments. In the month your records on Sales Scribe begin, the tile says records from 31 Mar 2026 only, with your date.
  • Drafts — how many invoices are still drafts (not yet issued). Selecting it opens your invoices.

Overdue invoices

Below the tiles, the Overdue invoices table lists your most overdue invoices (up to eight, oldest due date first), showing the invoice number, customer, due date, how many days overdue and the balance due. Select an invoice number to open it.

  • When there is a longer list, a link lets you View all … overdue invoices.
  • The Aged receivables report link opens the full Aged Receivables report.
  • If nothing is overdue you will see "Nothing is overdue. Nice work."

Recent invoices

The Recent invoices panel shows your five most recent invoices with their customer, status badge and total. Select an invoice number to open it, or View all to see the full list. If you have no invoices yet, this panel offers a Create your first invoice button.

Quick actions

At the bottom are four shortcut buttons for common tasks:

  • New Invoice
  • Add Customer
  • Record Payment
  • Reports

There is also a New Invoice button at the top right of the page.

The getting-started checklist

Until you have created any invoices, a Getting started panel appears in place of your figures with a short checklist:

  1. Set up your organization (already done).
  2. Add your first customer.
  3. Add a product or service (optional — you can also use free-text lines).
  4. Create your first invoice.

Each incomplete item links straight to where you complete it. Once you have invoices, the checklist is replaced by your live totals.

The sample-company banner

If you are working inside the sample company, a banner at the top reminds you that everything is safe to change and offers a Delete sample company button.
